Every bone in the body except one meets with an other bone.
The one bone that does not meet another bone the U - shaped thyroid bone in the throat.
The meeting places of the bones are called joints. There are two kinds of joints : those about which the adjoining bones do not move, and those about which the bones do movre freely.
The bones of the cranium are held together by joints of the first kind. These are immovable joints.
