The properties of copper make it one of the most widely used metals. This reddish brown metal is malleable, and does not react with water or steam. It does not react with the oxygen in the air either, unless it is heated strongly
Copper is an excellent conductor of electricity and heat. It is one of the main metals used in electricla engineering. In fact, almost all electric devices rely on copper wiring because copper is inexpensive and highly conductive. Copper is vital for electronics industry, and is often used for coin too. Copper is also used in medicines.
Copper on its own is very soft, so it is often mixed with other metals to form alloys. Copper is mixed not only with zinc and tin, but also with aluminium, led, silicon, manganese, cadmium, chromium and other substances. The number of copper alloys used in industries is constantly growing.
You must have photos of the statue of Liberty. Well it is made of copper too!
