First metals used by Man?

We know early man made most of his weapons and tools from stone. Then about 7000BC some communities began hammering copper into crude knives and sickles. Copper was probabily discoveres by accident. Maybe a nugget of pure copper, which occures naturally in nature, fell into a hot campfire. The copper would have melted, and when it cooled, would have solidified into a new shape.
Gold is another metal that occurs naturally in nature.It is bright, incorruptible,malleable,and appears in pure form in the beds of streams. Early man discovered that hammering could easily shape it, and since it is so attractive, it began to used for jewellery and ornamentation.
Copper and Gold were probabily the first metals used by man, because they occur naturally in nature.Once man began using metals, he discovered the process of extracting metals from ores as well and fashioning these metals into useful shapes and wepons.
