When you think of metals, you think of something hard and shiny. But, did you know that there is a metal that is a liquid? It is mercury, and it is the only metal that exists in a liquid state. The melting point of metals varies greatly. Tungsten, the metal used in the filaments of electric bulbs, has the highest melting point, over 3410 degrees Celsius. Whew! That's very very hot!
