Because the bloodstream contains more red cells than any other cells. Besides the red cells, blood consists of white cells (about one for every thousand red cells), plasma,a watery liquid in which the blood cells float, and plate|ets,which are cells that causethe blood at a wound to clot and so prevent loss of blood.
