The heart is one organ that never seems to rest. Whether you are awake or asleep, it goes on and on. In that sense we could say that the heart never rests. But it ls not exactly true, since the heart does rest a great deal!

Some scientists say that the heart rests for a fraction of a second between beats. According to one estimate, in a lifetime of 70 years,the heart rests about 40 years. It rests even when it is working its hardest.
