Blood has been called "the river of Life." A very appropriate description. Because it is the blood that supplies the cells of the body with the materials they need for nourishment and repair. lt also removes wastes from the cells. In addition,the blood contains cells that fight disease and substances that repaircut or bruised parts of the body.
The blood is made up of both liquid and solid parts. The liquid is called plasma.The solid parts are red corpuscles,white corpuscles and platelets. The word corpuscle. is theLatin word for "little body."
