Why are some insects attracted to light?

IT is said that some insects use light as their navigational tool - compass. Thus when an insect is in doubt, it will instinctively head towards light. These insects keep the natural source of light (sun, moon) towards their right and then decide what would be north. But when these insects are faced with a round radiant bulb, they cannot decide the right direction and thus keep hovering around the light source. Subscribe to Child Project Helper by Email
