One of the world's most famous mathematician Euclid was born about 325 BC in Alexandria, Egypt. He is often referred to as the father of Geometry. However, very little is known about the personal life of this famous personality except that he taught at Ptolemy's University in Alexandria.


Euclid's Elements a work on elementary geometry exceeded other works of his time. The Elements is divided  into 13 books which cover plain geometry, arithmetic and number theory, irrational numbers and solid geometry. Some of his other workes are ' Data', 'On Divisions of Figures', 'Phenomena and Optics'.
Euclid died in 265 BC
